My phone fell when I went to the store yesterday and landed on the screen. I have a screen guard on so the screen didn't get damaged. But the phone went off when it fell and won't turn on since. At first I thought the battery might be drained but when I tried charging it, the charging light didn't even come on. I've even tried doing a soft reset and nothing worked. Please help me..

Try open up back glass and check battery connector cable. It might be not properly attached due to the fall. I have same problem before with xperia z and i only need to make it intact back. You may need heatgun or hairdryer to open backglass

how would i do this?
first you have to heat the backglass to weaken glue at the back. then pry carefully using knife cutter or anything thin to cut through the glue around it. Do not cut through too deep into the phone as you might cut some cable, only about 5mm deep should suffice. after removing backglass you should see connector right next to battery. press gently and make sure it tightly attached to the board. and that's all if the cause of the problem is loose connector cable. you can find on youtube how to disassemble phone if you wish to see it through the process before doing that

Hard reset as in holding volume down and Power button?

@Ben. I did a soft reset by pushing in the yellow button next to the SIM card slot. And still nothing happened. I've also had it plugged to the charger the entire day and it hasn't responded at all

Try the hard reset as @benjamen50 said, but if it does not work then I think that some important component on the logic board or connector inside is loose. In that case you would have to open the phone ans seeif it is something that could be repaired.
