Why does the display not work after connecting the home button?

While repairing an iPhone 6, which I have done hundreds of, this time after moving the parts over to the new screen and seating the connectors it is a blank display. After studying it, I noticed that when the home button is disconnected the screen will work fine (more specifically the home button itself not the heat shield). If I disconnect the home button and leave the heat shield connector on it will boot and work fine but as soon as a connection is made with that home button to the heat shield it loses display. I replaced the home button and heat shield (with connector) and the issue continues. I have never used this forum to ask a question but I am very curious why this is an issue and how to fix it. Thank you.

Assuming your replacement parts (new button and extension cable underneath the LCD Heat Shield), then the only other part of the chain is the FPC connector on the logic board. Inspect it to see if there are any damaged pins or debris.

I inspected it. It seemed fine and no missing pins or debris. I just recently solved the problem by connecting the home button ribbon cable to the logic board while it was booting up. I have no idea why it worked but I'm relieved!

Try to replace the home button extension flex cable and metal plate and use the original home button . Don't use the aftermarket home button because you will lose id touch function.

Ok, just solved the problem. The only way to fix this issue, for me, was to boot up the iPhone without the home button connector connected to the logic board and while it was booting connect it. The home button and touch ID work completely fine and the iPhone functions normally... I have no idea why this would work but I'm very relieved! Thank you guys for the responses :)

Ok, I recently fixed the problem! After trying every possible way the only thing I could think of was to connect the home button connector to the logic board while the phone was booting up. When I did this the phone miraculously did not go black and it booted up! I thought the home button may not work especially touch but I was wrong. Completely functional and the touch ID worked just as it was originally. So happy that this random trick worked and am still curious why this would work but anyways, thanks for all the answers I hope this may help someone else with this issue!
