Well its not possible to change OS in 5800, because all the OS have different architecture and run on different hardware configuration. So I do not think that it is possible to download the OS anywhere or change the version of the OS to anything else. Since Android is built with open linux kernel a linux based mobile phone like the motorokr, could easily change the OS, but all based on linux kernel. Just my 2 cents and good luck.

Yes it looks good, problem is that it does come in English and Spanish only, and it looks like it is a theme running on top. To change the OS may have a different meaning to me. Try installing Android or Windows Mobile and see if you get it to work. Still a good find and I appreciate the notification. Thank you.
Yeah, you can change Symbian S60 for another Symbian version. I installed Symbian Anna and later Symbian Belle in my 5800, but you can't install Android on it.
why? its possible . nokia 5800xm os copy the scheme creat the anrion in same rules and same harware type and same steps is changed the os is possible

How is it possible if you end up with hardware problems? If you create hardware problems, that means that it will have limited functionality. I do not think that this would be a good thing.

no se puede cambiar el sistema operativo del 5800xp, pero si puedes actualizarlo a una versiΓ³n mas nueva, si me dices que versiΓ³n es tu celular te puedo ayudar a que lo actualices , la ventaja es que sera mas rΓ‘pido, tendrΓ‘ mas memoria y algunos otros beneficios ....saludos.

I am a Computer an d Cell Phone Flashing experienced person ( + i own 5800sm lol )
OK , sweetie the thing is Old turkey ( or whatever name is ) is exactly right. 5800 install any other Os , than the one it is intended to. Because the phone was manufactured in 2008 and the earliest Android was launched in 2010 !!! Therefore , this device cannot change its OS.
Explaination : Nokia has secured the bootloader of the phone . We cannot interfere with it . Therefore we cannot change the os !! simple...
What we can do : We can use the same Os , but make just a few customizations in the OS .. They tell you it is a new firmware , but it is the same old symbian s60v5. It is just like installing same windows again BUT with different skins ( changing of explorer frame and shell )
This custom configured OS is called CFW : Custom Firmware. It is provided largely on the internet. You can download and install it.
BUT PLEASE DONT FLASH YOUR PHONE !!! YOU PEOPLE ARE NEWBIES , AND DONT HAVE ANY NEED TO INSTALL IT.

It's possible.I've changed the os on my 5800XM but just windows mobile.Android I really don't know.Google it for Nokia Metro 8 CFW for Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and you will find it.Good Luck.
