I ran DLG diagnosis it shows volume name. Quick test Pass Capacity 0.0 GB, extended test Pass Capacity 0.0 GB. anyone that found a solution with similar issue please help. thx

If you dont care about data on it, whith the drive plugged in, go into the start menu and type "disk management" and hit enter, there you see all the disks plugged in to your computer, find the one that is the WD passport, right click and then hit format, THIS WILL DELETE ALL DATA, but the hdd should work again.
The other thing is there is no space left, to check that, hit the folder icon on your taskbar or if you dont have it go in to the start menu and type "windows explorer" then navigate to My Computer on the left side and see if your WD Passport is detected, if it is how much space does it say it has?

Actually, even though the name of the program is disk manager, it won't show up in search if you type that in. You have to type format or partition or something. Weird.

Disk management recognized Drive 0 but drive 1 wasn't. Device manager recognized SATA drive but showed no other drive. all that time The external drive was connected the drive had 400 MB left in it. I would have used wd disk utility to low-level format but my wife has important documents on it. I open DOS {which trumps Windows) to check the root directory but it wasn't recognized either, it was not recognized, oddly or not WD diagnostic tool recognized the drive but that's it. thanks a bunch
