Lester Moorman, If possible charge your battery 12.2V+ or change it, as this could continue happening. Try alarm rest procedure below.

Insert the ignition key in the Accord's driver-side door lock.

Turn the key to the unlock position.

Turn the key to the lock position.

Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.

Start your Honda Accord's engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the Accord to reset the alarm. When you're done, you can shut off the Accord and arm the system as usual.

The links may also help. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

I had the same problem on a 99 accord, the instructions did not work for me either.

So I left the keys in the ignition and accidentally locked myself out. After opening the passenger side door with a hanger wire, the alarm would go off everytime, even after opening the car with the key. I followed the instructions on how to reset the alarm but it would still go off. What i found out is that since i opened the door with the hanger, i had to reset the alarm inserting the key on that same side (passenger side). Anyways, hopefully this helps somebody else.

Had the same problem with my '01 Accord Coupe. Went to jumpstart it and, as soon as the circuit was closed, the horn started its cacophony. As well, the lights began switching on and off.

I quickly pulled that last connection away and thought, "S*!t, now what?" "Anti-theft system is what." I pulled the horn relay - which is located in the fuse box under the hood. I jumpstarted it and, soon after, found that the battery needed to be replaced.

Battery replaced, I still had the issue of the flashing lights (and no horn). The lights will stay on without flashing by simply turning on the lights.

I also noted that the cruise control was disabled. However, the green LED on the cruise dash button indicated that the system was functional. I hypothesized that the steering wheel buttons for the cruise control had been disabled when the horn relay was removed.

I found the answer posted here and followed the steps. It worked. I replaced the horn relay. The cruise control is functional again also. Thanks!

Thank you! Worked like a charm and saved me lots of money... And I didn't have to disconnect the wiring harness like I thought I did!

I had this same problem with my 2001 Honda Accord. I followed the steps as stated and it worked right away. This process was a quick fix. Thanks again!!!

once the alarm goes off, stop it using the alarm button on your transmitter.

What if you don't have the transmitter? I'm trying to figure out how to do it manually.

Well this dumb thing sorry didn’t know i needed a account to help you with your problem!! But like i said there sometimes this hast to do with the hood latch there is actually a electric plastic plug if you would under your hood if you lift your hood having the key fob in your hand you can lock your doors open your hood so much as air can set your alarm off but there is a little spring with a hook on it sometimes you can bend that its a tight fit but with a flat head screwdriver towards the passengers side of the vehicle just in the least bit but make sure it is indeed bent that may fix your issuse the connector i’m talking about should just pull right up but you do have a notched clip so make sure you pull the notch back first before pulling up but hopefully that solves your problem!! Or try a new battery in the fob or may need a whole new fob. Honestly their is a laundry list of things little minor things it is nothing big. Except very annoying. Hope this helps tried to post it above but it deleted it.

1999 Acura - same issue with changing the battery. The alarm sounded and I couldn't reconnect the battery. I tried all posted remedies including the one above and watched all videos with no success. I finally disabled the horn by removing the Horn Relay (fuse) from the under hood fuse box. With that removed, I was able to connect the battery. The horn didn't sound but the headlights were flashing. I started the car, stopped the car. I used the key to "unlock / lock / unlock" the car per the alarm reset protocol. I started the car and everything works fine now. Of course I had to reset the radio via the code that is inside of the glove box.
