replacing battery iMac CRT
My specs about the question:
iMac CRT, Summer2000, Mem:192MB, Machine ID: 406, Processor: Power PC G3, Speed: 350MHz, Battery part nr.: 922-4028
Question: I saw your advice replacing battery for iMac G3 on page 8. When I opened the backslot the interior was not what you describe. I couldn't match the pictures you showed with the interior of my iMac. It is far more simple I believe. Are we talking about a newer model perhaps. ?
A couple of years ago I found the description of replacing the battery in an article of mac.com/support but now I can't find it anymore.
Do you have pictures of my iMac?
Kind regards,
Hubert.

Hello Mayer,
Indeed I've got a new battery and fixed it.
After a couple of days the optical CD disc driver went faulty. All inserted CD's, even the orginal System discs were spitted out. First I tried a cleaning CD which was also not accepted. I went on MacUpgrades.co.uk site which had no spares for the optical drive. Even when I asked for an external one they said that the iMac was to old!!! I don't want to get rid of him because I need him for special work which he does fine for me.
What type of external drive do I have to order to fit in my machine? And are they still available?
Specs:
iMac CRT System: Mac OS 9.2.2.
Built in Mem: 192MB
Model Name: iMac M5521
Machine ID: 406
Processor: Power PC G3
Speed: 350MHz
Kind regards.
Hubert Steyns.
