iPad stuck on Apple screen with progress bar during restore

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help. I've bought a ipad 3rd gen that appears to be stuck in dfu state.

On plugging in to the pc or mac iTunes recognises it as a ipad in recovery mode and allows me to attempt to restore it.

Every time it gets as far as displaying the apple logo and a progress bar on the iPad. But the progress bar never moves. In fact, I think it would stay like that forever. The longest I've left it is 18 hours!

I (suspect foolishly) bought reiboot pro, believing its claims to solves such problems. But it has done the same thing, stuck on the progress bar.

Please, can anyone help?
