MacBook Pro 15" (Early 2011) won't power up
Since a few days my long-serving MBP 15" (Early 2011) won't power up.
- It was running and it was put to sleep by closing the lid. After that (about an hour later) it didn't come back to life.
- The MagSafe adapter lights green, not orange as it should when the battery is charging.
- The battery indicator on the side of the device shows 6 (out of 8) green LEDs when MagSafe is connected. Otherwise it won't light up at all, which might hint at the battery.
- After reading various posts about similar problems I decided to switch the DC board, to no avail.
According to other posts and my experience with other MacBooks (and other notebooks) it should be possible to start up without the battery. I tried this to rule out a battery problem.
Are there any other problems that I might check before thinking about switching the logic board? The latter seems like a pretty heavy investment on a 6 year old computer.

When you press the power on button do you get anything, sounds, lights? Were you getting a lot of beach balls before this started? Any drops or liquid damage?

No display activity, no sound, no lights, fans don't start up.
No beach balls before, the device worked like a charm.
The device was not dropped and there's no liquid damage.
