iPhone is not charging and LCD not working after restoration?
Hi all!
So, common story, my iPhone 6s plus is a rebel and took a dive. Internally, I do not see any signs of corrosion.
Attempt 1. I went home after my trip. The phone seemed to be doing alright. It wouldn't charge, so I put it in rice. The next day, I took the phone apart and put it in rice. There was some mineral deposit from the water. I cleaned that off. I put it back together. The logic board was overheating and the home button was not able to activate touch ID. It was still not charging while turned on. However, it will charge when turned off. Took it back apart and placed it in rice.
Attempt 2 I placed the logic board, the home button, the taptic engine, and the bottom of the phone to get the dock connector in 97% isopropyl alcohol for a couple hours. I put it back together a day later. Things looked a lot cleaner. I turned it on. It stayed on the apple logo. When I plugged it into a charger, it turned on (although it does not recognize charge.) The LCD screen looks fine, but does not respond to touch and it does not recognize a charge. On the bright side, the logic board is no longer overheating. I checked to make sure the LCD connection cables were in there well. I cleaned them just in case with the isopropyl and put them back together making sure they are seated well.
Attempt 3 Help! Any advice?
Thank you!
