Lenovo Laptop has violet or green tint, ghosting and burned in images

So yesterday afternoon I turned on my Lenovo laptop to work on a project and when I turned it on it had a violet tint, like when you stare at a light too long. So I rebooted it, and when it was still there I shut it off, and left it to see if it would resolve itself. A few hours later I turned it on again and it was back to normal. I worked on it for a while, and then turned it off for the rest of the night because it had needed an update. I personally was wondering if it was caused by the severe lightning storm we had pass through our area, but I'm still uncertain. So today, I turned it back on and the purple hue was back, but I hadn't had time to look at it much so I turned it off. When I came home later in the evening, I looked at it again and it had gotten worse. It was going from purple to green randomly and distorting the normal colors, ghosting my cursor when I moved it, and had different application windows burned into the screen, some of which I hardly open and had not had open in a while. I took a screenshot of my home screen and emailed it to our desktop and everything looked normal on it. All of the icons and images looked normal. I'm not sure what needs to be done since I've read about many different questions online similar to mine but with many different answers. The laptop is not very old, so I was thinking it was something to do with it getting too close to a magnet, or possibly something from the storm I had talked about. Thank you for your help!!! :)

@stinson97 it will definitely help if you tell us what model Lenovo this is. Going by your description, it sounds like a bad LCD screen. attach an external monitor and see what you get. Should an external monitor display things properly, it is most likely that your Lenovo has a bad LCD. Should the external monitor display the same problems you are most likely having problems with the GPU on your motherboard.

Its a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch. Sorry I didn't change it before. For some reason the edit tab on the drop down wouldn't show up.

How did you fix it

I'm having the exact same issues ... with a Lenovo 700 ... this is the same Lenovo that has major wifi receiver issues ... so now wondering if I should write off Lenovo completely.
