Are you having problems in one specific place, like your home or workplace, or just bad reception in general?

Assuming it's just someplace like your house:

See if it works better closer to your router/Wireless Access Point.

If it does work better at short range you could have:

1. interference from neighbors, or other wireless devices

2. poor signal strength output from the router

A Double test will help rule points of failure in or out.

1. Have someone try to use your WiFi with a similar device

2. try to use your device on their WiFi.

If their device works on your wifi the problem is probably in your phone, and if it doesn't you can probably solve it with new router/access point and or mesh system. (Mesh systems use more wireless access points that ultimately connect back to the router, so your phone is always within close range of an access point

I have seen wireless adapters go bad, although only in laptops, and in my experience, anytime a network card goes bad, (wired or wireless) it tends to be a slow decline. (Over time a larger portion of packets sent/received will fail to get through, until it fails completely.
