Blue/green pressure marks after screen replacement

I've just replaced my cracked iPhone 6 plus lcd/digitizer assembly and now there are blue and green marks showing around the edges of the screen. its only particularly noticable when the device is displaying a dark image. the blue green marks are the type you see if you were to push on your screen too hard with your finger and are appearing around where the screws affix the metal backplate to the screen assembly, and a slight green tint in the bottom right corner (also near a screw).

What really gets me though is that these marks only show when the screen is snapped into the phone, if i have the cables connected but the screen out of the phone, the marks vanish. I've already checked around the frame for any irregularities or debris that might be pushing on the back of the assembly and have tried removing or loosening the screws in question, for some of this it helps and for others it remains a problem. I've also tried bending the clips that hold the screen to the phone in various ways to no help. This was never an issue on the old cracked screen nor a functional screen i pulled out of my brothers phone.

I'm sure this isn't worth the 4+ hours I've been fidgeting with it, i was just curious if anyone else has had/fixed any such issue.

Thanks so much, feel free to ask questions if you have them.

Is it dangerous to not fix it and just let it be?

@damiairdin74124 Hi Mashi,

I would say no, it's not dangerous to leave it be but there is a small possibility the effects could spread over time. That probably won't happen, but you would be able to see it progressing if it did.

So if it doesn't bother you then I wouldn't worry about it. You can always replace the screen at your leisure; the 6 plus screens are getting ridiculously cheap nowadays so you could afford to order one from some place like AliExpress and not worry about the long shipping times.

Sounds to me that the Ribben cable is defective and every time you bend the cable it starts to give you problems. It sounds that you did everything right, what it is a defective LCD you bought contact the seller and have them warranty the new screen you bought.

I had thought something similar except some of the marks go away if the side screws on the backplate are loosened and removed thus removing pressure from the lcd. in addition i can bend the cable all i want without any ill effect the problem only presents itself after snapping into the phone, leading me to believe the clips are putting tension on the lcd somehow that is causing pressure marks

I've actually had this issue a couple of times. The first time, the pressure marks vanished in a day or so (Whew!) but the second time, I told my customer they would vanish as well and had to replace a week later because they didn't. Not sure why the first one did and the second didn't...but have taken extra care since. Not sure if this helps, but you could just monitor it to see if they subside to non noticeable after a day or so

Just did my screen on my 6+ and a week later

same blue shyt is appearing in the lower mid portion of my screen…to be honest I never cared much for apple products always been PC since Windows 95 & didn’t try an iPhone until my sis offered her old iPhone 4s to me after I broke my new Windows Phone and I fell in luv & after using this outdated 4s from 2014-2016 I finally decided to convert to the Apple Phones fully and go get myself the latest iPhone in 2016 which was the 6s…but it has been having small annoying issues since the day I bought it, thing like the finger print scanner only working about 60% of the time & having to type the pin many times each day, the keypad is shittier then my iphone 4s because i find myself spending much more time backspacing and correcting typos because this 6s will register the wrong key and print the wrong letter all the %#*@ time, then the battery issue it will be at 8%, 10%, even 12% sometimes & just shut off dead….so had to learn quick to plug this POS in every time it gets under 20%…have a few other small annoying issues but yall get the point, there seems to always be some kind of issue with the iphone 6s…all I know is I will not be wasting my money on an iphone again.
