Phone wont power on after attempt to retrieve deleated text msg.

I was trying to retrieve deleted text messages on my boyfriends ZTE w Dr Phone and after about 60% the screen went blank. A red and green light at the top of the screen alternate. I took the battery off and replaced it and when I try to power it on nothing happens. But then the screen lights up and says powered by android and the lights start blinking and the screen goes black. Please help. I probably deserve it for snooping on his phone. He is going to be so mad, I'm certain he'll break up w me & move out, I've learned my lesson. Somebody please help me.
