Front Camera has failed - no power on PP2v85 when switching modes

Hi Community,

Trying to work on one of my old phones that i sold to a friend. The cameras in the phone were not working at all. I just replaced U2301 due to no power on the PP2v85_CAM_VDD. Hey presto, rear camera worked again... however, still no front camera....

I have tested the PP2v85_CAM_VDD line and when i switch between the front and rear camera, the rear has constant power, the front holds it for about 2 seconds, then drops to 0v, all the time holding a black screen.

Would anyone know what would cause the camera to do this or where i should begin to look at repairing/testing...
