Display does not turn on

My display was cracked but still worked. I followed these instructions: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Mid 2014 Display Assembly Replacement

to replace it and it was very simple, however the screen did not turn on. I double checked the connections and it still would not display. I thought maybe I just purchased a bad display. I reattached my old display and it will no longer turn on. Any ideas of what may have happened? I made sure to read all of the comments on each step and was very cautious to not damage the logic board or its components. I'm at a loss since I know the original display turned on without issue prior to the change.

Can you hear the fans spinning? if not make sure you connected the battery. I often forget to do that!

The Mac turns of for sure. I hear the chime, I see the keyboard lights turn on and can hear the fans. I've even attempted an SMC reset and NVRAM reset in case the system had something to do with it. Thank you though.

The display is fine. The backlight is not coming on. Shined a light through the apple and I can see the login screen. Anyone know how I possibly could have blown the fuse with the battery disconnected?

Even though there was no image on the screen was there still a backlight on the old one? did the apple logo still light?

Prior to changing the screen the backlight on the old display came on. After changing the backlight no longer comes on at all for either display. I see no visible damage to the connector. I just used my multimeter to test the fuse and there doesn't seem to be a problem with the fuse but I added a picture because one side does look a bit burnt. What else could be wrong?

Did you ever spill anything on the laptop? or are the lines around it just dust?

My guess you blew something in the backlight circuit when you changed the screen. Maybe you forgot to disconnect the battery. It will be savable, but you need to find someone who does motherboard repair.

I definitely didn’t for get to disconnect the battery. I followed the Ifixit guide very carefully to prevent something shorting out. Do you think there could be something wrong with the new display that could have caused this? I’m a bit worried that if we fix the logic board the display will just fry what ever is causing this again.
