Why does the zoom no longer work?

My Powershot A610 got wet. The zoom function does not work. Also, the menu function does not work. The Date/Time screen menu is frozen and cannot be set. The camera still takes pictures and the flash function works. Pictures that have already been taken cannot be viewed.
