Won’t charge battery

As in most cases, it could be a connection problem, here are some things you could do:

1) See if the charging port is not broken, if it is that may cause the speaker to not charge after X seconds/minutes

2) Have you tried using different cables/adapters? (For example 1A or 2A adapter or a different Micro USB cable)

3) In rare cases the speaker will "block" incoming electricity to prevent it from further charging, I've seen this with other devices before and you'll just have to be patient and try using it and replugging it every now and then over a short period of time.

4) And of course, if you can, try to exchange this one for a new, working speaker
