Bad logic board - Can I get the hard drive out?
I replaced the LCD screen in my MacBook Pro after I dropped it. The computer worked for about 3 weeks and then it completely died. Someone said it was a bad logic board. Now I cannot return the screen (it's been over a month), but I was wondering if I can get the hard drive out and use it as an external hard drive with a different computer. Would it work even if the logic board doesn't?
I've taken my mac to 3 different places, and tried to fix it myself. Nothing has worked... I have a brand new LCD and a broken computer. Spent a lot of time and money trying to fix it and it still doesn't work. I'm depressed. Any advice?

Are you taking this to Mac people or PC people? Sounds like a lot of incompetence

mangel, why not elaborate on your issues and see if any of the great guru's on here might not outsmart the tech support. Wouldn't be the first time...

Thank you for your responses.
I'll attempt explaining the situation better.
My MacBook Pro is the A1226 Santa Rosa Model, 15".
After I dropped it, I took it to a local technician (he works on macs). He gave it back to me 3 weeks later without repairing it. He told me the problem was the LCD - when plugged to an external monitor the computer worked, so I went ahead ordered the part and replaced it myself.
My mac worked fine for about 3 weeks, but now the screen is completely dark. I tried connecting it to an external monitor -this time nothing happened. I took it to iRestore in Nashville, and they had it for about 2 weeks. They said that the problem was a bad logic board (nothing else, they were not very specific). I had to pay $60 for the diagnostic.
I'm tired of buying parts and paying for diagnostics, and maybe is best to get the hard drive out and save for a new computer. I just wish someone could fix it!
