I had received what I believed to be a 2013 macbook air logic board and had a 2014 macbook air that the logic board was no good. the board fit,but had to order a different logic board to trackpad ribbon/cable existing one wouldn't fit. I know that if the keyboard is bad it effects the power button. now that I have different ribbon/cable could that effect the power button?

You do need to be careful on mixing different series!
Apple often changes things about so you do need to make sure before you go into Frankensteining your system the pieces interoperate. At this point I think you'll need to go back to the original logic board so the cables properly fit.
