Headphone cable cut above the mic

The white cable of my headphones has as mall cut right above the mic. There's no sound problem at all but the cut gets wider and I can see the wires. It also has an orange mark around it after some weeks. Besides all the soldering thing is there something I can tape it with? I dont think I could use even just a tip of glue on it
