laptop does not turn on with charger attached, it glows orange

Sounds like there's a MOSFET issue. If the computer runs fine on the battery but not on the charger then it is. The mosfet is a small chip (about .5cm) located near the power connector; couldn't find any useful link, or tear down but sometimes it's very simple to spot the damage as this chip tends to melt or deform, and it's normally the closest chip to your power connector. Have you tried checking voltages on the charger?
