Does the iPod require some type of reset upon logic board replacement

I replaced the logic board and powered the ipod, now I only get a blank screen on power up and it shuts off. Is there another step I need to follow?

Not normally, you should have definitely more than a blank screen. Does your computer recognize the iPod? It helps to know which iPod you have. Usually when I replace logic boards on my iPods, I end up having to restore it but do get more than a blank screen. Make sure that all your connections are properly seated and all the clips that hold your cables are engaged, Make sure that there is no corrosion or debris on the connector or the cable end.

I have the 5th generation video ipod. My computer recognized the ipod and stated that I needed to restore it. I tried restoring it but nothing happened. I'll check the connectors. Thanks for the help.

Mario21768, on the 5th gen watch the ribbon cable coming from the display, it has the tendency of going in crooked and not making proper connection, also the cable from the click wheel has the tendency of pulling the clip open, thus not making proper connection. The battery cable has to be all the way pushed in and WATCH the sliding clip If you have a new board I am certain that it is one of the connections. Of course depending where you got the board from. Let us know how it is going so we can continue to help you.
