Ps button works only in safe mode

Hi Guys,

I have a question. I suspect that my bluetooth or comm chip is broken. The PS4 does the following:

1. In safe mode I can use the ps button while connected with USB.

2. In normal mode I cannot use the ps button while connected (or disconnected) with USB.

Am I correct that in safe mode the cable is communicating with the ps4 (and not using the comm chip)?

What do you think? Is replacing the comm chip the solution?
