@arkelr you will have to remove the top to get to the wires and the mount of the elements. If you give us a proper model and/or serial number, we may have more precise information.
Thanks for the quick reply. The I.D. label is obliterated, but according to the Westinghouse website it is a WHC942BA. I've had the knobs off and made a tentative effort to lift the top, but I'm a bit scared to use too much force and maybe crack the glass.
