Is it possible to find the original logic board
Can someone help me?
I have a 7 year old iMac 27". I’ve used it regularly, but now it’s the second time it died on me.
Last time it was the hard disk. That costed aroud 450 Euros. Now it’s either that again! Or it’s the logic board. Bloody he.. its annoying!
Although it 7 years old I still think its ridiculous that it can’t be fixed as they don’t sell the original logic board in Europe any more? I think its rediculous that you need to throw a 2100 Euro machine away!
Is it possible to find the original logic board or a copy product that can be used and changed?

Depending on what has failed you can still get parts for your system! Don't know who told you the logic board was not available it truly is.
What I can tell you is Apple had placed this system on is Vintage and obsolete products listing.
Then, they rolled back the classification as so they claim still had parts. Frankly, I think a lot of people complained as its the last real serviceable iMac. In any case here's what was said: Apple expanding vintage Mac repair pilot program.
Do keep in mind the Apple iMac repair program ends at the end of the year. But this is strictly Apple! Others are still actively fixing this system as likely will do so for quite a few years more.

Thank you very much Dan. A little strange as an approved Apple repair and dealer told me that I couldnt get spareparts for this machine any more (only in US). Hence why they couldnt fix it as they are not allowed to use third part products.
I will look into it and get in contact with another dealer/repair shop who can fix it. Looked at replacement on Youtube and it doesnt look too difficult. However how certain can you be on getting the right product if you order online? Can you find originals?

I wouldn't trust what someone has told you! Given the amount of work and the hassle. Lets first diagnose the problem so we are sure you need a new logic board. The more details the better!
What is it doing now what do you see or hear? What does an external monitor show you? If you press and hold the T Key when you reboot the system do you see the FireWire Icon on the screen?
As far as your question on what you can find online: Knowing your source is important. A person selling on eBay or Amazon is not as safe as a company that been around awhile and offers a good return policy. As far as what you get this can be a bit confusing! No one is creating replacement logic boards the market is to small and the logic board is to complex an assembly to emulate. What you will find are used parts from dead systems that have been tested. New parts either from bought systems taken apart for their parts or spares sold out of the back door or from a failed business.
