the blue and red light light flashes while plugged into the charger and only the blue light flashes when not plugged in to charger. what is wrong, why won’t my c720 chromebook power on

After you have tried what @shiham said if that dosen’t work then open the device. unplug the battery and then plug it in. if the device doesn’t power up then while plugged in still do the wash sequence Esc, Refresh, and Power. If it does not come up after that the board is bad. If it does then proceed with the wash. After the machine comes up plug in the battery and test by closing the device and opening it again.

I plug it in the chromebook flashes blue on the charger led insted of orange I do what @shiham told us and it never turned red or any thing else it just stayed flashing blue I also did what @hbarnestechk12 told me and it still didn’t work I don’t know if I should open up the chromebook and check and if I did I wouldn’t know what I’m looking at

Plug in your chromebook.
Hold down the Esc, Refresh, and Power buttons until the charge light turns to solid red.
Leave it charging for at least 4 hours. Charge light will turn green.
Now it can be turned on.

Hi, have a acer C771. both orange and blue lights flashings. Checked power supply and its ok. Tried another and same results. Removed battery and checked voltage with multi meter and completely drained. Connected power supply without installing battering and same lights are flashing and will not turn on. Performed the "wash" and is now asking for recover usb or sd card.
Is there not a reset button? Will this turn on without a battery? I don't see a cmos battery in the unit. Where to I get the recovery if needed?

I have this problem too
I tried the above steps with no success (which was helpful) but resolved my issue by re-seating a loose battery cable connector on the motherboard.
On the Acer chrome book the charge light and power light are both steady blue but nothing on the screen. What’s wrong?

it looks like a battery issue, did you try to switch on without the battery

My Chromebook will not power on , I plug in the charger and it instantly blinks blue then red and then blinks just red and then it stops blinking for good .. what could be wrong ?

I turned my chromebook off after finishing my work. After that it refused to turn on, the power light is flashing blue what do I do to fix it
