Want to use monitor as a stand alone monitor for MacMini
My old Powerbook G4 is a lost cause, but display is still good. I want to use it for my MacMini early 2006 as it’s monitor. they make little circuit boards to accomplish this but which ones to use? Anyone ever do something like this? I need a little help.
Thanks in advance
Update (12/15/2018)
I am fitting the monitor into a TRS-80 case witch my 12” powerbook G4 laptop lid fit’s perfectly in the place where the old tube sat. I can get the “DIY LCD Controller Board Driver Card HDMI+VGA for LP154WX4 B154EWO4 LTN160AT01” from eBay for about $20-25. But there are three different ones, so I need to know which one works with the 12” powerbook G4 monitor. there are three different kits for this…
1. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kit-M-NT68676-2...
2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/DIY-LCD-Control...

Building a “MacTRS-80”
According to Mactracker the screen I have is:

Update (03/19/2019)
Just about done… ere is what it looks like now…
MacMini 2.1 2.33GHz with 4 GB Ram (I know it only addresses 3)
Running OS X 10.7.5 Quite smoothly.
I pulled the CD/DVD off to use the USB Super Drive
Now all I have to do is replace the broken On/Off switch, one I figure out what kind will work… SPST, or a NO switch. I see the two little wires that connect to the motherboard.
It’s almost ready to button up and put into operation.

@n0klu you need to tell us what panel you have. We can't verify the driver board etc. without that information. the informtion from MacTracker does not provide the panel number. Look at the back of the panel there should be a sticker with the manufacturer and the model number

I haven't taken the laptop apart yet. So I guess we will pause this conversation for a few days till I get the time to tear it apart. The laptop got smashed while it was open and sitting on my desk a few years ago i just carefully put a soft cloth between the keyboard and screen and closed it up and put it away. When I began to conceive this project I dug it out and held it up to the monitor hole in the case it was like it was made to fit! As soon as i get the screen out I'll post it, thank you.

@ oldturkey03, That was quite a job! Had to dissassemble the whole laptop to get to the screws for the hinge.... Anyway the numbers are as follows:
LP121x04
(C2)
LG PHILIPS LCD
There is another sticker label with the following numbers:
6091L-0102M
040407G02
I hope that helps finding the right Controller Board Driver Card .
Thanks in advance
