My thunderbolt port and the usb port had water contact

Hi,

Couple weeks ago I got a weird burnt smell and realized it was coming from the USB port on the right side of the computer. I took it in to the apple store and they said my USB port + thunderbolt port had contact with water and there was no other damage in the computer - so it was local to the ports on the right side. Despite there’s no other damage he suggested only solution is to replace the logic board as the ports are connected.. and it’s around $600?!

Just wondering if it’s possible to JUST replace the USB port and thunderbolt port or is it worth it to get the whole logic board replaced? I have no other problems with the computer except maybe the battery is not long lasting as it’s 3 years old now (cycle is only 492 and apple says limit is 1000 for this model so I don’t think it needs replacement.
