Why won't my camera will not hold date and time?

My Canon Powershot SD450 will not hold the date and time settings if I power it off. If I set the date and time and keep the power on, the settings will stay. When I power off the camera off, the settings are lost and when I power back on, the settings are zeros.

A rechargeable lithium battery is built into the camera to save such settings as the date/time" This is from the user manual page 4 for your camera. So, all you would have to do is to change the battery and then reset your time/date. Here is the service manual that deals with it as well. Good Luck
