WiFi not working after pulling iSight cable
Hi. I recently replaced the right speaker/subwoofer on my late 2008 15” macbook pro. Quick and easy procedure but when I put everything together, my airport/wifi icon wasn’t showing up at the top of my screen where it normally is. After some inspection, the message was that ‘no hardware installed.’
After some searching, I went through networking preferences to make sure none of the settings were wrong. I reset the PRAM and NVRAM properly without any change.
The bluetooth is working perfectly and the iSight cam is working perfectly. It’s just that for some reason, the computer isn’t detecting the airport card at all.
I suspect it’s at the connection on the logic board where the isight cable connects.
It doesn’t appear to be fitting in there properly on the right end…it’s a weird little connector, it has that nylon padding glued to it, which I removed.
I was very gentle with the computer during the repair so I don’t believe that, especially given the location, that the airport card was damaged.
My question is if there is any way to change that connection (the male side) without changing out the entire isight cable, assuming that’s the part that is damaged.
Or is there any way to rig that connection to where it would magically detect the airport card?
I have lots of spare parts from previous computers, same make and model so I have any spare parts I might need, I’m just not sure if there is a way to use those parts that might end up fixing it. I assume that if the female clip on the logic board is somehow damaged that it would require replacing the entire logic board or having someone qualified somehow reattach that clip.
Sorry for the length, just wanted to give as much info as possible.

I updated my original post with some photos. Clearly there's an issue there. I pulled it out and tried to bend the female part of the connector out to makes sure those ends were stopping it from connecting.
Got a little better fit into it, replaced the nylon ribbon holding it in place and still nothing with the wifi. Simply the 'no hardware installed' error message.
System doesn't show wifi showing up in hardware. Kind of a bummer...I'm using an ethernet cable right now. It's obviously an old machine but I use it for artwork so I'm not going to go too crazy about trying to get it to work. I think a dongle might be in my future.
Appreciate any additional suggestions though in advance.
The ironic thing is that when I was detaching that (and it's a type of connection I haven't dealt with before) I thought it was just for the isight cam and was perfectly fine losing that if it messed up. Had no idea it was also for bluetooth and wifi until after some research when it wasn't functioning properly.
