Why wont my ps3 display anything at all

My ps3 turns on but wont display anything I've tried to reset it using the power button and nothing happens. I've even tried taking out the harddrive turning it on to see if it will display even an error message and still nothing what do I do about this

Have you tried using a different type of connection to the TV other than the one that you're using now, e.g. if using HDMI try Component, Composite or S-Video connection?

Have you tired connecting it to another TV to prove whether the problem is with the TV, the connecting cable or the console?
