Replacing trackpad cable, any need to disconnect battery/logic board?

Based on answers here, I need to replace my trackpad cable. In the trackpad replacement iFixit guide, first steps are to remove battery cable and logic board cable. Since trackpad cable should run over the battery, and that is all I am replacing, do I need to remove the logic board and battery cables for any safety reasons, or can I just remove logic board cable cover and remove the trackpad cable?
