Why can't I back click magic mouse to previous page?

I have always double clicked on right side of mouse to return to previous pages instead of using back arrow. I have just changed the batteries and since this have been unable to use this method to go back to previous pages.

Go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to System Preferences > Hardware > Mouse and reset it.

Thanks for help. Didn't quite solve it but led me to installing MagicPrefs which offered more options and I can now back click and much more.
