MacBook Pro randomly dies at 50% battery
I recently changed my mbp battery due to a water damage. However, I realize that it will shut down at around 50% despite the new battery. Is there a way to tell that it’s a software or hardware issue? Has anyone encountered similar problem?

Had you tried clearing the PRAM and done apple diagnostics?
For water damages, there are chances some logic board components could be affected.
You will need to thoroughly inspect the mainboard for any corrosion, etc.
