How to set up the keyboard

i have a tiny keyboard (chatpad) for my xbox one x controller.. i already set it up on xbox for it, but i'm not able to open my keyboard when i try chatting in a roblox game.. one problem is that i'm deaf, but i prefer to use my keyboard.. how do i do it to set up on xbox to make it work if i missed anything? i have kincet that's been turned on, although, not sure if it's really required.. does anyone see me when i play/chat? i rather not..
