Airport cable socket removed from motherboard-No wifi or bluetooth

The ribbon cable Socket on the logic board which connects to the airport ribbon cable is not working and looks broken. I am wondering if anyone knows how I might fix this problem without buying a $500 new logic board. Is it possible to unsolder and re-solder the connection for the ribbon cable to the logic board? or is this a deeper issue that will require a logic board replacement?

Looks like it got mangled! Someone clearly didn't have the right tools or skills to remove the cable properly.

It can be replaced, but since it’s soldered to the logic board it takes a bit of work and a donor board from where the socket should be taken from. Being a plastic part its removal and resoldering requires a bit of skills, experience and tools..not a DIY job, but it can surely be done by someone into component level repairs.

Sadly, these connectors are difficult to recover for a second system without damaging it. Its just easier to get a replacement. Louis Rossmann has them.

@danj If one can successfully work on iPhones anything can be done. I didn't know someone had found a source for such parts..I gave up looking for them long ago, but good to know!
