Can't turn on my MacBook Pro 15 retina mid 2015

MacBook Air not turning on and not charging

Hi

I haven’t used my Mac for about 40 days. When I tried it yesterday I couldn’t turn it on.

There was no liquid or physical damage to the laptop. The green/orange indicator on the adapter works fine, but, when plugged in, the adapter itself is not as hot as normally did.

I tried doing the SMC reset with out plug in and with, no response.

I tired disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, without a response

i tired turning on with the battery disconnected, again without response.

i tried another adapter, it came up with the same issue.

Someone online posted that if the battery swell, I may need to replace it. It looks like that may be the case.

Any suggestions will be helpful! Thanks!

MBAir or MBPro 15…either one should work when connected to power via AC adapter even WITHOUT a battery installed!

If you cannot boot the laptop without the battery in place, you need to try another known-good AC adapter…to be sure of that. If still no start up, then—assuming the main/logic board (MLB) is OK—you may not be getting power to the MLB.

I know there’s a battery recall program for your model but I don’t know how Apple would handle your situation if you were to bring it in. Maybe they would reject it outright or give you a refurbished model. It may be worth a try.

Re: Battery Recall + MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) Not turning on + Green Light lit

After wondering why my Macbook had been hot to the touch near the power jack and on left side, I was psyched to see the June recall. By coincidence my Macbook has since stopped turning on at all. Green light lit. It charges and loses its charge but will not turn on. All resets attempted. So I bring it to Grand Central Mac Store, guy tells me it qualifies at no cost to me — “great!” — and as I’m walking into the street, get a phone call: “hey, your computer’s not turning on” — me: “yea, i know” — him: “you need to come back” —-oh wtf — I could back and he now wants to charge a minimum of $600+ just to look at it. That’s what happens when you bring a dead Macbook in for the recall.

I visited apple store and they told me my MacBook was not qualified and the problem is related to the logic board. I have to pay $600+ to fix it. I only used it for 2.5 years, and I never used it heavily. My old dell laptop runs forever. MacBook sucks!!!

@yueqiyan Heard loud and clear. Because I just arrived in NY for a new project w/ a now-dead Mac, I bought a $200 Lenovo from Best Buy at lunch. And I won't lie, I love this piece of sh*t, It turns on. It turns off. I'm not doing production anymore. What do I care?
