Laptop wont turn on? Stuck on restart?

So I’ve asked a previous question about this topic but now a new problem arises. About three days ago, I updated my laptop to the new MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 seeing as it fixed an error with laptops not properly turning on or something. So I updated it, and it worked fine for a couple hours.

The problem is, when I was done using it I shut it down and now it won’t turn back on. (Trackpad still clicks and stuff) I read later that I was supposed to update it, close the lid and let it sleep while charging for at least 8 hours. I didnt do that so when I went to turn it on it didn’t respond. Even after I let it charge for more than 8 hours, it won’t respond 3 days later. What do I do?!

Hello Sasha!

The thing with ….charging for at least 8 hours…, it concerns those units which intermittently shuts down even though the battery shows a remaining charge . But now your machine is won’t power on, so it isn’t our case.

So, first we’re going to do is SMC reset.

1.Shut down you mac by holding power button.

2.Press and hold the right Shift key, the left Option key, and the left Control key for 7 seconds. Your Mac might turn on and show the Apple logo on its display. Keep holding those keys while you also press and hold the power button for another 7 seconds. If your Mac turned on when you first pressed the keys, it turns off at this point.

3.Release all three keys and the power button, then wait a few seconds.

4.Press the power button again to turn on your Mac.

If, this doesn’t help. We can try to restore your mac’s firmware but we’ll need to boot a first mac to DFU mode, second mac with Apple configurator 2 installed on it, and a cable to connect them with each other.

But just try to reset SMC, if it won’t do the trick just take your mac to apple authorized service provider it’s the best option, because you have the apple’s one year limited warranty. Let the technicians do their work :)
