Disc Drive Wont Accept or Eject Discs after Swap
I recently acquired a half-broken PS4. In the report, it said the disc drive didn’t work: It would not accept discs. I knew I had a spare on standby so I purchased the PS4. It arrived, and sure enough, the drive does not work. I took it out, and replaced it with my other drive which had been working.
I put in the new drive, except I forgot to swap the logic board, so the game wouldn’t start up. Oops! I went back in, swapped out the logic board, put the new one in, annnnd now suddenly it doesn’t eject discs. Okay, I manually ejected the disc using a screwdriver and twisting the manual release. I try to put the disc in, and it doesn’t feed.
I re-swapped the logic boards, and neither drive feeds anymore. I used another broken PS4 (crashes on playing games) to check if it was the MOBO, but neither drive worked in either PS4 anymore.
When I try to insert a disc, I hear it try to do something briefly. From my inspection, I THINK the laser is trying to move into place, stops, and just returns back.
