2004 Chevrolet Avalanche driver side window not working?

I would at least take off the inside panel and look at the regulator arms. If you hear the motor working when you push the switch you know that all of that is ok. The are regulator arms in the door that move the window up and down. Make sure that the motor is on the regulator arms and that the window is on its track. Also check for the cable that connects from the motor to the regulator arms, it may be frayed or snapped already. There is excellent info on on here.
