How much "should" labor cost to replace the stepper motor?
I'm just curious about how much or even a ballpark price for labor alone for the stepper motor to be replaced. The work has already been completed. And the price for the labor was quite steep.

In todays technology, many motors on the vehicle are stepper type motors, which one are you wanting to replace and exactly what year and engine do you have please. Depending on where you take it to be replaced, they will want to RE-diagnose the problem to prove to themselves what the problem is so they will charge for that. They may or may not use a labor guide to charge your labor rate. If they do what you dictate they may not give you a warantee but no matter what happens, they need to give you the old part back unless there is a core charge for the part.
Would you mind to share what the actual problem is and what was done to diagnose the problem down to this stepper motor?
