PS4 Slim will not update or accept discs.

I have had a “broken” PS4 slim for around <10 months now because i just can’t figure out what is wrong with it. As it is said in the title, it will neither update nor take discs. Is there any low cost solution to this problem, or should I just buy a new PS4 all together?
