Went from flashing nonstop to not at all

My camera went from flashing non stop and not charging to not flashing at all and saying it’s charged. This camera was passed down to me and had been hanging in the house for 10 years untouched, we cleaned it off got new film put it in and it worked great as soon as I got it home and opened it up to take a picture it would just flash every few seconds but wouldn’t show it was charged. I assumed there was just dust inside the camera so I took pressurized air and cleaned out the inside. That got it to stop flashing constantly but not it won’t flash at all when I take a picture even thought it says the flash is charged and it will still randomly flash without me touching anything. Both me and the original owner are stumped.
