Why wont my MacBook motherboard work on my lcd display 10.1

Hi, so I recently bought a 10.1 LCD display. It’s actually for a Raspberry Pi unit I have.

I have also a 2007 MacBook logic board just the logic board and its LCD display which is working

I bought a HDMI cable and mini-DVI to HDMI adapter which I plugged into my LCD displays controller board, I then plugged in HDMI cable to the HDMI port and put the mini-DVI adapter into my MacBooks mini-DVI port and switch on the LCD display but nothing shows up on it.

I also contacted the seller and he said that it doesn’t support 1680 x 1050 so if anyone knows what I can do to get picture on my LCD screen that would be great thamks.

Also i have a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter and that also didn’t work either.

To clarify what you have: You have a bare MacBook logic board with its LCD and somehow you have it working with a drive (the display has an image and keyboard and mouse work).

Now you want to add a second display it has a HDMI connection on it. So you then connected a HDMI cable which then connects to the mini HDMI to mini-DVI adapter to the MacBook's mini-DVI connector.

To clarify what you have:

You have a bare MacBook logic board without a display which you want to get to work.

The LCD display you have has a HDMI connection on it. So you connected a HDMI cable which then connects to the mini HDMI to mini-DVI adapter to the MacBook's mini-DVI connector.

Are you sure the logic board is working?

Do you have the original display, keyboard and the trackpad from the system? You do need to start off with these parts making sure the MacBook is working with a SATA drive running OS-X which it supports.

You'll need to connect the original internal LCD display (primary) to boot up the system and then you can enable the external (or mirror it to the internal).

That still assumes the display is able to respond. You'll need to look under the display control panel to see what it shows via the mini-DVI connection.

Ok thanks how do I get my MacBook motherboard to connect with my LCD display I have my original display I'm using it rn but where do I go to setup the screen for the other screen to work thanks

You lost me here... 'rn' what is that?

So you have the original internal display connected and you can see the macOS desktop on it. So now all you need to do is open the control panel from the Apple icon in the menu bar > System Preferences > Display

If you don't see it then you have the wrong or bad adapter/cable.
