television will not come off standby mode

I have a Blaupunkt led television and when I switch the power on it is in standby mode but quickly goes to on mode the blue light comes on but nothing happens no picture or sound, if I use the remote to switch it off it takes ages to go into standby mode but only stays there for about 10 seconds then goes back onto the on mode, has anyone any ideas what the problem is and how to fix it the model number is B320148T2HD ( could not find the television in the list so just put in a toshiba )

Model No 32/1480-GB-11B-EGP-UK

Hi,

Thank you for the updated information, it helped a lot

It seems as though this may be a firmware related issue, but looking at the information I’m not sure how you would check if you had an affected model since the TV doesn’t fully turn on.

Also not sure if it is for your exact model as a serial number is referenced which differs from the Model Ref. information you supplied. Check your TV serial number perhaps if there is one.

If you have the correct “affected” model then updating only requires a USB stick to be loaded with the firmware and then plugged into the TV’s USB port and the TV powered on and switched on, after that it is automatically updated.

The caveat is that you have to have the correct firmware for the TV. If the firmware is NOT for your exact model TV (and serial number sequence it seems) you will end up with a “bricked” TV if you update it using the firmware i.e. it will not work at all

You could always contact them by using the email contact link that is just above the information and ask them to verify if your model number, model reference number, model serial number etc is one that is affected and can be safely updated.
