"new" used logic board won't turn on

Hello,

I have buyed a new, but used logic board.

I have replaced my old logic board with the new from eBay and push the ON Button, nothing happens.

The old one start immediately, but the lvds is complete broken.

Maybe is there a simple way to find the broken spot?

The old and the new one looks only on one spot different.

It is the 1R0 chip.

Maybe this is the failure?

Thanks for helping me.

The 1R0 component is an inductor. They only look different as the supplier is just a different company.

Time to call the person who sold you the logic board for a return. Sorry ;-{

Hi,

There is no returning.

I have looked at the diagnostic LED’s they won't turn on.

The first LED goes on for a second, if i disconnect the AC cable, push the ON button for 10 seconds, AC cable back, release the ON button and push the ON button with connected AC cable. Is there any chance to find the fault?

The new logic board has an Intel I7 and the old one has a Intel i5

Sorry to hear the outfit you bought the board doesn't offer exchanges or returns when you they ship you a bad part.

What is the board numbers for both, look for a 820-???? number it will be part of the copper etching are they the same?

Hi,

Board Number is on both 2733.

I think i have found the error, the power socket on the board.

I have used a contact cleaner and after this the led 1 + 2 flashing.

I think it is a cold solder point.

If you are trying to upgrade the CPU aspect of the logic board you should be able to swap-over the CPU chip to make your i5 board into an i7 system!

You'll need to take the heat sinks off and will need to clean and replace the thermal paste in the process.

The project name for this system was KALAHARI and the schematic drawing number is 051-8233 which is findable on the big web.

I did all of that (clean, replace, new thermal paste).

I'll try to solder it tonight. Maybe it's successfully.
