2015 MacBook Replacement Battery Not Recognized or Charging

Following replacement of the battery in my 2015 Retina MacBook per the iFixIt instructions, my MacBook powers on normally, however the battery status in the menu bar shows an “x” through the battery and indicates “no battery available.” Reset SMC and PRAM; same behavior.

The repair was performed with iFixIt parts per the iFixIt instructions, including connecting it initially to a 5v charger (also per iFixIt instructions), and connecting to main power. The Mac boots normally through to the desktop and all functions work with the exception of the battery indicator and it does not appear to charge. Coconut Battery also shows no battery with an “unknown” MacOS battery status. Any suggestions are *greatly* appreciated.
