Who can repair my home button flex cable in Canada?

I have an iPhone 8 plus that has some very minor damage to the home button flex cable. The button works and touch ID works. However, the button tries to click multiple times (almost like a rapid vibration) when you try to press it. I can see a tiny mark on the cable which suggest that maybe one of the microscopic traces in that area might just have a nick in it. I have seen videos of various repairs that are possible but I do not have the equipment or skills to do it myself. I’ve asked around the Saskatoon/Regina areas and nobody seems to be able to help me. Is there a Canadian mail in service tech company that could help me? I believe the iPhone is fully functional except for this and I don’t want to lose touch id. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

I don’t think many repairers will do home button flex work. But I think your problem could be the turtle IC. Minho is around here and I think has a shop in Canada.

@larry767 there is one very well known to us and thus I have no issue with recommending him. Contact the iFixit guru ;>) @refectio on here https://www.ifixit.com/User/1395548/Minh... If he can’t help you, he most likely can still direct you to the right person.

Thanks. I found his website and sent him a message via their contact form. I will try to remember to followup on this thread if I get anywhere.

Hi Larry, was this following a DIY repair? As @imicrosoldering states in his answer, this may be a problem with the IC that is on the HB flex. When lifting the flex, it is possible to damage the solder balls beneath the IC causing a loss of "click" function. As for the small nick on the cable, you may be correct in that it is causing the issue. Sometimes these can be repaired and some shops do flex repairs.

However, the flex is really thin and sometimes you end up with a hot mess instead of a repaired flex. IMHO, for the small difference more that Apple will charge for a screen repair (versus a microsoldering repair plus shipping), I would opt for an Apple screen replacement. You'll get a nice original screen and a fully functional HB.
