Replacement Battery for Nuvision TM800W610L

I am looking for a supplier for replacement batteries for the Nuvision TM800W610L Windows 10 tablet.

The original battery is labeled:

EL-24110110PV-001-1014

3700 MAH - 14.06 Wh - 3.8 V

2016-11-06 EJ19 02225

It is about 3.9” by 3.9” (100 mm by 100 mm and 3mm thick) with a small circuit board on one edge with black, red and white (smaller gauge) wires connecting to the mother board of the tablet.

I purchased a battery with the similar dimensions and electrical specifications on ebay.

The tape holding the old battery was removed and the old battery was carefully pried away from the double side sticky tape holding it in place. The wire soldered connections were melted to break the connections and finish removing the old battery. The new battery was taped into the tablet and the wires from the new power management board were soldered to tablet contacts to match the original wire color locations.

I see that you've already found an answer, but I wanted to ask - How did you manage to get the screen off this tablet? I'd like to open mine up, but I've no idea of the method.

I gently heated the edges of the Nuvison tablet using the sealed heating pad from the iFixit iOpener kit and pried the case open using the plastic prying tools. The edges were heated one at a time and reheated as necessary to soften any glue holding the tablet together until the edges could be unsnapped. Working patiently I was able to open the tablet without breaking it. After replacing the battery it snapped back together without glue, and it is still working.

I did managed to burst the first iOpener heating pad I bought by fat fingering the too much time on the microwave oven timer so the pad overheated.

We have another Nuvision tablet with a failing battery, but its user has yet to consent to allow me to attempt replacing the battery since I estimate a 50% chance of success.

My sincere thanks for the explanation, I gave it a shot and opened mine. On inspection, on mine at least, there doesn't appear to be any glue on the sides, but there are three pieces of double sided adhesive connecting the screen assembly to the back, located on the bottom one third of the tablet (if the side with the windows button is viewed as the bottom)

If I could trouble you with one follow up, did you happen to try the tablet without a battery attached? I'd considered just removing the battery and using it as a stationary unit, but the presence of the third thermistor wire makes me wonder if it would work at all without one (a battery that is).

I did not attempt to power on the tablet with the battery disconnected. The tablet would shut down due to low power even when it was being charged so I assumed it needed the battery to work.

there is no heat required for the Nuvision TM800W610L. Starting at the small edge near the speakers, insert a pry tool (spatula like) and pry the back away from the screen assembly and then move around the long sides and snap the back case off the screen/circuitboard assembly. Just watch out not to pop out and lose the push buttons.

Hi @minigendo

Perhaps the Ifixit NuVision 10.1 Atom Glass Screen Replacement guide will help.

I realize that it isn’t the same model (TM101W535L - is yours also a Nuvision TM800W610L as asked above?) but generally manufacturers don’t stray too far away from how their same type but different models are put together.

Worth a look anyway.
