Why is my ice maker randomly stopping?

My ice maker will work fine for weeks, then suddenly just stop working. The water flows from the door fine with no problems. It will then start making ice again, sometimes only once, sometimes for hours, some times for days, or weeks, but eventually will decide just to stop. Only thing I can think of is the control board.
